...
I remember once we were in your room eating Reese's peanut butter cups.
You prefered the mini ones, so you of course had a big pile of them.
I like the big ones, so just like you I had a big pile of them.
Otep's House of Secrets cd adorned your stereos speakers.
We were only fourteen and didn't give too much care if it was too high, or if we had nothing put sugar surging through our veins.
As I poked out the middles of my Reese's and ate the peanut butter I noticed that you had a strange way of eating yours.
You ate them like they were Oreo's.
Peeling them open from the middle, and licking the peanut butter out, then craming the chocolate left over in your mouth.
_That's an interesting way of eating them... Weirdo.
You looked over at me befuddled, and with wide jade green eyes.
But right after you started laughing at pointed at me.
"You're one to talk. Your's looks like a doughnut!
The room filled with our laughter.
Without hesitation I grabbed one of your mini's, and you grabbed one of my big ones.
I did your Oreo trick, and you did my doughnut one.
We started laughing again, and you even grabbed another of mine to make it look like a doughnut and held them both over your eyes.
If they ever made glasses out of chocolate, I think you'd be the only one who could ever pull them off.
...
I'm sitting here now, Otep still playing with a pile of Reese's minis.
Without even thinking I pulled one apart at the middle and ate the peanut butter first, then popped the remaining chocolate into my mouth.
After all these years I can't stop eating them this way, and it makes me wonder
If you were still here, would you eat the big ones like they were doughnuts?
Peanut butter shoved out from the middle, so that only a ring of chocolate was left.
And would you still pretend that two of them were a pair of glasses?
